Between the years 2022—2024
I was a Product Strategist at Bakken&Baeck.

I became a slime mould for teams containing our designers and engineers, and the clients’ leadership representative(s).

Through creatively designed get-togethers, whether they be stand-ups, syncs, workshops or retrospectives, I would surface the information everyone needed to begin and continue any project on a level, transparent, tangible playing field.

Throughout these meetings of minds, I would practice what I now see my approach to be, which is akin to fly fishing. A far cast, and a long wait, with little injections of tugging and nudging for the period you instinctively believe to be worth it. Strategy is a dance, and I believe strength, courage, open-mindedness and flexibility (over processes structures frameworks and job titles) are the characteristics that allow for great strategies to emerge.

What I enjoyed most about the incredibly interesting projects I got to work on, was the relationship we would build with the “client” as we uncovered and discovered with them, and the creativity of the solutions our incredible design and engineering teams would create as a result of this deeper insight and connection to the clients’ team, product, users and business.

3 of the 4 projects I was assigned to converted from one-off to retainer projects as a result of the genuine relationship and successful releases we had cultivated and shipped.

I also had the pleasure of hosting both of the public events BB held, for discussion amongst friends about the trends, bubbles, emergence and disintegration of technologies into, out of and throughout society today. I thoroughly enjoyed creating these spaces for both the speakers and the audience to connect and jive together in a collective and creative discussion on these matters.
