During the years 2009 to 2013, as the iPhone, cloud computing, and Instagram took the world by storm, I plunged into the history and opportunities in Visual Culture while earning a Bachelor's in Visual Communication. Back then, print and film reigned supreme as the physical materials we could create and publish on. Emerging computer technologies were a curious novelty, and none of us, including our professors at the time, foresaw the seismic shifts awaiting our industry.
Since then, I've been a front-row spectator and multi-faceted lancer for humanity's leaps and stumbles in our digital tango…
A New Age Business Model
ox.space is an ambition to bring the atomic diversity and multi-modality of the New Generations’ lifestyle habits, to the concrete jungles of our city centres.
In collaboration with …,staat, we ran a 6 month pilot between November 2023 and March 2024, where we gathered 50,000 people and their interests, in an empty 8 story building on the main street of Rotterdam.
These people transformed the space into a hot spot for vibrant activity through chaotic processes of network activations, community cultivation, creative curation and good ol’ fashioned event production.
Now we’re in stealth, working on a bigger, better, and much more sophisticated offering launching Jan 2025.
Venture Advising
I was invited by my dear friend Dec, to join him on his own venture of meeting, backing (or not) and supporting exceptional founders who are pioneering new frontiers with their groundbreaking ideas.
Leveraging my decade-long experience across various departments in startups of all sizes and diverse industries, I’ve realised how much joy I get from supporting founders in their navigation of all the ins and outs of product, team and business development. I provide valuable insights and guidance, ensuring these visionary entrepreneurs have the tools and direction needed to transform their innovative concepts into successful ventures.
The Stage
While at Bakken&Baeck, I was given the opportunity to host two wonderfully intimate and hilarious get-togethers, one on and one off line, for like-minded people to connect, share and learn from their experiences traversing the shifting peaks and valleys of the digital landscapes.
I really enjoyed doing this and realised I love
bringing people together and making them feel at home. I’ve missed that about the last few years of remote working, and hope to be able to this more in the future…
