A Stake In The Game

Quote from the guy saying how Ireland “won” the World Cup. My mum telling the story of driving down O’Connell street with lads on the roof of the mini, driving down to limerick in the camper van. It’s when we LAUGH and CRY like BABIES and cheer the wimen coming’ out of Victorias secrets and help people over turn their cars.

We are not known for many positive things across the world at the moment, but we will ALWAYS be great craic at a match.

This is what brings me, to The Merge.

If what happens on Thursday works, Etherium will have knocked a wall for the world, to gain access to an internet of value. Where every piece of anything that’s submitted to it, gets a value.

Now, there are lots of potential pit falls with this technology, not least the one whereby the only people who can make a stake are those who have committed monetary stake, to the chain. But a philosophy I came across relatively recently, and find it ever more present in our rapidly fractalising society, is that of the many forms of capital. Currently, they are broken out into 8, by this guy, who lists them as:

Now, whilst I know we are a long way from Ireland being on the blockchain, we are not a million miles a way, from a reality where our various kinds of contributions can and will be rewarded. Take the green energy bill. Take the bottle bank in Albert hijn.

Rather than sit here and ridicule the Irish Government for the atrocious job that they are doing planning for, communicating about, and delivering on the work that needs to be done to reach our climate targets, never mind our imminent energy crisis,

The Merge

How Etheirum is moving to proof of stake

What that means

Ireland being a laggard

Feeling and looking like shit, and honestly, being a constant state of varying levels of rage, fury and dispair.

Except for when we’re watchin’ the match.
